Another of the estates visited recently was Domain Jacques Selosse in Avize, staying the night on the estate at Hôtel Les Avisés. The group took the chance to listen to Anselme Selosse and his deep knowledge and understanding of his terroir, but also meet with the Champagne expert and critic Peter Liem, who joined us during the vineyard visit. After the vineyard introduction, we headed to the cellar where Anselme had us taste some of his wines straight from the barrel before tasting his wines from the bottle. To wrap it up, we enjoyed an evening in the hotel’s restaurant with food masterly prepared by chef Stéphane Rossillon.
